Five students in war-torn Ukraine have received life-changing news that they will receive full scholarships to study at a college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, thanks to the incredible generosity of retired lawyer, real estate developer, and philanthropist, Sam Rose.
With his 2 million dollar donation for scholarships to Dickinson College, all costs for these students will be paid. It is indeed a chance for a future they may not have dreamed possible.
In addition to tuition for all four years, the Sam Rose ’58 International Scholarship will cover the costs of textbooks, dining, and living expenses including support for travel, health insurance, and other basic needs throughout the academic year in addition to supporting them during summer and winter breaks.

The five students were overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing the news from Dickinson College President, John Jones.
Dickinson has a long history of supporting students around the world facing strife, through the Conflict Zone Student Support Fund, which assists international students whose demonstrated financial need increased because of extreme violence or war in their homeland.
More than 1,800 students are currently being supported through scholarships and grants, and more than 3,642 donors have contributed to making this possible with gifts of all sizes to help in changing lives through Dickinson. Aside from these scholarship contributions, Rose has contributed $17.5 million to the Campaign for Scholarships.
