    how to deal with ADVERSITY

Adversity is bound to come calling at one point or another in our Christian walk. It is an inevitable fire that tests us in ways we never imagined. Our attitude during this reign of turbulence is most times the yard stick that measures its altitude. We unfailingly have to choose fear or faith. Embracing an escapist mentality and trying to flee via fear (false evidence appearing real) always prolongs the process. Ask the Children of Israel – 40 days translated to 40 years.  No matter how hard and ridiculous thing look, be assured that when there is life, there is hope. Leaning on, trusting and total surrender to God is the first step and then everything else will follow. Be hopeful.

Scriptures to use when passing through adversity

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything – James 1: 2 – 4.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings – 1 Peter 5: 8 – 9.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus – Philippians 4: 6 -7.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal – Isaiah 26: 3 – 4.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all – Psalm 34:19.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will – Romans 12: 2.
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded – 2 Chronicles 15:7.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.  “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I – John 14: 27 – 28.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”  So Joshua ordered the officers of the people – Joshua 1: 9 – 10.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose – Romans 8: 28.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength – Philippians 4: 13.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight – Proverbs 3: 5 – 6.

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord – Isaiah 54: 15 – 17.

Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord – Jeremiah 1: 8.

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death – Revelation 12:11.
