Nothing beats a simple and random act of kindness. I certainly believe what makes the act radiate such an amazing feeling for both the doer and the receiver, is it leaves everyone happier than they initially were. This was the story between a Good Samaritan, Josiah Vargas, and a McDonald’s employee.
The world was able to watch what happened via Vargas’ TikTok (@dookiedoeboy), as he had planned to share a video narrating his trip to a McDonald’s drive-thru in Elkhart, Indiana that resulted in him receiving much more than he ordered. In the clip which has now amassed over 2.3 million views, Vargas was stunned when he found thousands of dollars in his to-go bag instead of the McDonald’s breakfast he ordered.
Vargas explains that he ordered a Sausage McMuffin from the drive-thru, and when he looked inside the bag for his meal, he was shocked to find something else. Apparently, the McDonald’s staff that attended to him had absent-mindedly handed him their “bank deposit.”
After showing some of the contents of the bag, which contained stacks of bills and change assorted in individual Ziploc bags, a shellshocked Vargas examines what was erroneously handed to him instead of his breakfast sandwich.
“Why? There are a couple of thousand dollar bills here,” Vargas says, holding up a baggie full of $20 bills. “Like, why would they do this? Why would they give this to me?”
Knowing he could easily have kept the money for himself and probably caused a ruckus at the restaurant, Vargas instead took to TikTok to share his shocking discovery. Nonetheless, he quickly made a decision on what to do with money.
