According to the United Nations’ health agency, the level at which Ebola virus is spreading is greatly underestimated.
The World Health Organization has reported that extraordinary measures were required to deal with the Ebola crisis, which has claimed more than 1,070 lives.
The current outbreak started in Guinea early this year and has since spread to Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Reports say about 60% of those infected by the deadly Ebola virus have died.
Despite the massive outbreak which has continued for some time now, World Health Organization is coordinating a huge scale up of the international response.
On the other side, reports say that two people have lost their lives in Nigeria after consuming a solution made of salt that was rumored to prevent Ebola infection.
BBC reports that this incidence began after text messages started circulating in Nigeria last week. The texts recommended that people bath in a salt solution and also drink it as a way to prevent getting the virus.
Nigeria health minister scotched the rumor. A lot of people have been hospitalized after taking the salty solution.
Ebola virus causes to its victims, severe dehydration through bleeding, diarrhea and vomiting.
Up to now, there is no vaccine and no cure to stop the infection from Ebola virus.
