“But it’s natural,” said my husband, in slight protest, after I asked if some food he’d bought was organic.
“Darling, that’s not the same,” I said, doing my best to speak softly. ‘Natural’ simply means God made it; it’s not created by man.”
He kept listening. He knew I was only trying to do him good like the Bible said in Proverbs 31.
So I continued. “‘Organic’ means God made it, but it has been grown the way He intended–without poisonous chemicals or pesticides used to keep the bugs off.”
I hugged my beloved and kept talking. “Thank you again for being on this health journey with me.”
“What about non-GMO?” he asked.
I love my husband for so many reasons!
I smiled, and said, “‘Non-GMO’ means food is unaltered genetically or chemically so that it is in the form God intended it to be –at least since the fall of man, although some ministers believe that everything in creation was cursed because of Adam’s treason. Almost always, ‘Non-GMO’ also means that no pesticides are used. Remember when I called the popcorn producer in California, who had a ‘USDA Organic’ label, but no ‘non-GMO’ label? She insisted that the organic label stood for non-GMO too, but I wasn’t sure. It’s been proven that rats won’t even eat GMO corn–remember?”
He nodded. After he’d spent four days in the hospital with heart blockage years ago, he’d realized that it was wise to eat as many organic and non-GMO foods as possible, and as much as possible in their natural state.
The more we’ve explored these foods, the more we’ve enjoyed them, felt better, had more energy, and realized that, although some organic and non-GMO foods may cost a little more, it’s so worth the investment to stay out of the doctor’s office, and lose no time from work or play!
We have also seen the LORD answer our prayers to bring more organic and non-GMO foods to the stores in our area, and He has! Many of them cost no more than their junky counterparts.
We know that it is the LORD Who has given us the desire and the wisdom to eat much better than we did for decades! We are much healthier now than we were growing up, and even into our young adulthood.
However, we credit the Word of God, which we speak over ourselves and each other (as we pray a Blessing with various Scriptures over one another every morning) as the main reason we have enjoyed divine health and quick healing (if something does try to attack).
He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction.–Psalm 107:20, AMPC
It all comes from our good, good Father God, Who loves us so much He sent Jesus to die for us and rise again (John 3:15-17), to give us Zoe life (John 10:10)–a life of Heaven on earth (Deut. 11, Ephesians 3:20)!
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).–John 10:10, AMPC
He will teach you to eat better, too. Ask Him for His wisdom and guidance for yourself and your family. He loves you so much, and will show you the unique plan for your greater health!
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.–James 1:5, AMPC
