How do you think you would react if all you had was snatched from you in the twinkle of an eye by a group of brutal terrorists?Your lifestyle was rudely interrupted – from comfort to scarcity and hardship. As if that isn’t enough, you ended up taking refuge in an unlikely environment with other refugees. Will you be like Jesus on the cross asking His Father to forgive them for they do not know what they do? Or will the fumes of revenge, anger and hatred incite rage in you?

Not so for a young Christian Iraqi girl called Myriam – a victim of brutality at the hands of the ISIS militants. Their reign of terror chased her and her family from their home in Quaraqoush to the confines of an uncompleted mall in Northern Iraq according to the Christian Post.

During a recent interview with a SAT-7 Arabic Christian satellite television reporter, she was asked among other questions how she felt towards the terrorists and what she would do to them if she had the opportunity. “I won’t do anything to them, I will only ask God to forgive them” she said. When asked if she could forgive the Islamic State for all that is going on, she said a resounding “Yes.” She further explained “We used to have a house and were entertained, whereas here we are not.” “But thank God, God provides for us” she said. When asked what she means that God provides for her she said “God loves us and wouldn’t let ISIS kill us.”
If we all had childlike faith like this little girl, so many burdens will be lifted off our chest. Watch her inspiring interview below.
