Cheryl “Action” Jackson earned her nickname for her swift and decisive actions, exemplified by arranging two radio interviews just minutes after being encouraged to start her show. Inspired by her grandmother’s generosity as the neighborhood “Ice Cream Lady” and her parents’ ministry work, Cheryl developed a deep passion for giving back. Following her father’s passing, she sought to honor her mother, Minnie and founded Minnie’s Food Pantry. The pantry is named after her mother, a strong and inspiring figure in Cheryl’s life who served the community until she was called to glory. Cheryl’s mission is to provide food and create a warm, uplifting experience for everyone who walks through the pantry’s doors.

Minnie’s Food Pantry has fed thousands of people, including many who never expected to find themselves in need – from the homeless to luxury car owners. The pantry offers more than just food; it provides hope, encouragement, and dignity. Visitors experience a welcoming environment with red carpets, music, and dancing.
Cheryl’s approach is rooted in her own experiences of hardship, and she strives to ensure no one feels the same hopelessness she once did. Her faith and obedience to God’s calling have opened incredible doors, allowing her to partner with major brands and feed over 31,000 people in the first three years of Minnie’s Pantry’s existence. Since 2013, 3 362 769 meals have been distributed, volunteers have put in at least 50 269 hours, and Minnie’s Food Pantry has 49 offsite distribution locations.Â
The interview below was conducted during the early stages of Minnie’s Food Pantry.Â

Beyond her work at the pantry, Cheryl has made significant strides in media, starting with a segment on couponing on television and growing to national recognition. She balances her roles in media and charity with a clear sense of purpose, guided by her faith. Cheryl sees her life’s journey as a testimony of God’s provision and the importance of giving. She dreams of expanding Minnie’s Food Pantry globally, continuing to provide for those in need and sharing her message of love, faith, and generosity.
