A Man Free From Satanic Limitation

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hat is it like when a man runs his home without satanic limitations? Such a man is introduced to us in Psalm 128:1-4, and he is called a blessed man. Who is he? He is the man who fears the Lord.

All of us, therefore, need to take a close look at how we as men conduct ourselves in carrying out our responsibilities as a spiritual head, husband, and father. This man is supposed to be a godly example to his family, and God nurtures him to fulfill this expectation. A free man does not struggle with vices such as sexual immorality, anger and other character issues, financial impropriety, and a bad work ethic.

We see a good example of the blessed man in Abraham, who ran his household without spiritual limitations. God declared in Genesis 18:19 that He “would bring about for Abraham what He ha(d) promised him.” Abraham directed his household and children to keep the way of the Lord “by doing what is right,” and nothing less is expected of us. If Abraham had not met this expectation, he would not have become what God had spoken about him. In the same way, we can’t expect greatness when we abandon our priestly position to worldliness.

To be clear about what God’s way is not, Psalm 1:1-2 declares, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” The way of sinners is the way that leads to destruction and death–it is bondage big-time! The man who fears the Lord has “…his delight…in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” God’s way is the way of righteousness. That is why any trace of satanic bondage in your life must be given prompt attention.

Do you walk in the way of the Lord and spend time teaching your family in this way, or are you busy making money while they wander away without the knowledge of the truth? Is your wife a fruitful vine by the side of your house and your children like olive plants around about your table? When did you last sit with them at the family dining table or share with them the truth of God’s word?

What is the role of the woman as a fruitful vine? The vine produces the wine. A man’s fresh wine can be truncated if his wife ceases to be by his side, whether he is a pastor, engineer, doctor, lawyer, teacher, accountant, etc. If you deliberately sideline her, put her down publicly, and make her look like the scum of the earth, you are only hurting yourself. I Peter 3:7 confirms this: “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” Your prayers can be hindered if you mistreat your wife.

In this passage, what is the “knowledge” God is talking about? Knowledge of the fact that in relation to her you are weak and she is weaker than you, but both of you are heirs to the throne. The book of Malachi also warns of the importance of not dealing with your wife treacherously and goes on to connect the marriage relationship with God’s desire for godly seed (Malachi 2:15).

This brings us to the issue of your children as olive plants. An olive branch generates olive oil, which is symbolic of the anointing. Your children are the evidence of your strength, and do you neglect their upbringing to their mother alone? You need to understand that they are “…arrows…in the hand of a mighty man…Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate (Psalm 127:4-5).

Why will this man not be ashamed? Because he spends time teaching his household and children in the way of the Lord, and he ensures that the morning and evening family altars are observed. They also participate in the congregational altar by going as one family to church. They uphold the Word of God by example, representing a high moral standard in their lives for others to emulate. God bless you.
